At the end of the year, MUST University is proud to share the inspiring trajectory of Fausto Araújo, a student of the Master in Business Development and Innovations from the Business School. Fausto has just returned from a humanitarian mission in India, where, alongside volunteers from the organization GET A SMILE, dedicated his time and knowledge to transform lives in one of the most needy regions in the world.
The mission, made up of doctors, dentists, psychologists and professionals from different areas, had as its central objective the love of others. Together, they served more than 1,200 people, offering everything from medical and dental care to psychological and spiritual support. Despite the great need for health care, Fausto highlighted one aspect that profoundly marked his experience:
“What strikes us most is the simplicity of the requests. Often, patients just want to be heard, receive attention and affection. In the midst of so much poverty, it is impressive how they manage to live happily. This experience motivates us to rethink our way of living and to dedicate even more time to missions like this.”
Fausto, who lives in Paraná, is an agronomist, has a postgraduate degree in Environmental Management and Sustainable Development and is now studying for a master’s degree at MUST. For over 17 years, he and his wife, Thayse, have been involved in voluntary actions in their local community, helping children, teenagers, the elderly and people in vulnerable situations. Recently, he also worked in the natural disaster that devastated Rio Grande do Sul, coordinating the delivery of supplies to those most affected.
About how he balances an active professional life with his engagement in social causes, the MUST student shares: “With organization and planning, anything is possible. From small actions in your ecosystem to international missions, there is always a way to make a difference. The education I receive at MUST has been a catalyst, helping me think of innovative and applicable solutions to contribute even more to communities in need.”
Fausto’s story reflects the values that MUST University promotes: the union between excellent education and transformative solidarity. We believe that knowledge and empathy are forces that go hand in hand, capable of impacting individuals and communities around the world.
As we close 2024, we celebrate not only academic achievements, but also the humanity of our students, like Fausto, who make education an instrument to spread love, hope and smiles.
“May 2025 be a year of new opportunities to learn, grow and transform lives. This is MUST University’s commitment: to train leaders who combine knowledge and empathy to build a more just and supportive world”, highlights Giulianna Carbonari Meneghello, president of MUST .
