MUST University holds online debate with Secretary of Education of RS Live aims to discuss the impacts of floods on education

In May 2024, Rio Grande do Sul faced catastrophic floods that caused serious damage, especially to education. Schools and universities suffered from the destruction of infrastructure and the interruption of academic activities, requiring great efforts to overcome the crisis. Some institutions have already partially resumed in-person classes, while distance learning continues to be essential to maintain the academic calendar.

To discuss the impacts of climate actions in the state, José Paulo da Rosa, Secretary of Education of Rio Grande do Sul, will participate in an online chat promoted by MUST University, an American university for online masters and doctorates. The event, open to the public and students, will take place on the 23rd and 24th of July, at 7:30 pm, at institution channel.

On the 23rd, José Paulo da Rosa will discuss “The power of Education to Reframe the Future of the Population”. On the 24th, there will be a round table on “Interventional Practices in Crisis Situations”, with psychologist Andreia Siqueira Nóe and diplomat Fausto Araujo. On the same day, the book “Belbellita: the gauchesca butterfly”, by Lucas Visentini, will be launched. According to the author and professor of the Emerging Technologies for Education program at MUST University, the work aims to rescue historical-cultural aspects of Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Maria.

For Giulianna Carbonari Meneghello, president of MUST University, the American institution is committed to promoting essential debates for education and society. “This event is a unique opportunity to discuss how education can be a transformative agent in times of crisis”, he declares.

Participation in the live will guarantee an international certificate offered by MUST University.
