The impact of Artificial Intelligence on higher education was also highlighted by Alejandro Restrepo, Institutional Project Manager at MUST University, who followed discussions on the application of technology in personalizing learning and analyzing academic data. “The Intersections event at the University of Florida in Orlando provided a comprehensive overview of the rapid integration of Artificial Intelligence in distance higher education. Through presentations and workshops, the growing adoption of AI in personalizing learning, analyzing data to improve performance, virtual assistance and automated assessment was evident. While the need for ethical and safe use has been recognized, the benefits for teachers and students are clear, highlighting the transformative potential of AI to create more efficient and personalized learning environments.”, he highlighted.

In addition to the academic impacts, the application of technology in institutional management was also on the agenda. To Jose Guillermo Medina, AI plays a fundamental role in optimizing financial and operational processes at universities. “The Intersections event highlighted how AI can optimize academic and financial processes in distance learning. Personalization of learning and data analysis enable better resource allocation, increasing operational efficiency.
